Biography
Based in Los Angeles, Mark Turner manages Technicolor’s strategic partnerships with major companies in the media, pay-tv and CE space with special focus on virtual and augmented realities. Prior to that Mark ran business development for Technicolor’s technology licensing portfolio including launching HDR up conversion and distribution technologies.
Mark is Chair of the Consumer Technoloy Association (CTA) VR/AR Working Group, and the Digital Entertainment Group (DEG)Member Advisory Council, Mark is also a member of the board of the UHD Alliance and the CTA Video Board and was nominated in 2012 and 2013 as one of OnHollywood’s Power Players in Digital Entertainment.
Mark has spent 20 years in business and new product development for technology and entertainment companies. His expertise spans offerings including digital cinema; digital home delivery through cable, broadcast, and satellite; Internet television; mobile devices; and the convergence of these systems. Prior to Technicolor, Mark worked for Dolby securing content for new products including Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Before Dolby Mark ran strategic engagements for Microsoft’s Media & Entertainment Group where he helped launch the Xbox Video store, media apps on Xbox and Windows, the second screen platform Xbox SmartGlass and innovative interactive movies with Silverlight Enhanced Movies.
Mark, a British national, holds a BA degree in management studies from the University of Leeds.
