Biography
Lars Buttler is the Co-Founder & CEO of AI Foundation, an organization with the mission to move humanity forward through the power of decentralized, trusted, personal AI, while simultaneously anticipating and counteracting the risks of AI’s proliferation in society. With the help of many of the world’s most distinguished scientists and innovators, The AI Foundation develops foundational technology, products and experiences.
Lars is the founder of Trion Worlds, the leading developer & publisher of massively-multiplayer online games, with acclaimed titles such as RIFT® and Trove®, the most advanced Artificial Worlds on earth. Lars started his career as President of Wingcast Europe (Ford Motor Company/Qualcomm) where he launched Europe’s first-ever intelligent car service and platform, and created Signant, the world’s largest intelligent car service joint-venture. Lars was recognized as an early pioneer in the Intelligent Car industry. Lars then joined the Carlyle Group as member of the Leveraged Buyout team, focusing on investments in Telecoms, Media, and Technology.
Lars is also Chairman of BENS’ U.S. National Cyber, AI & Technology Council. He earned his PhD, optimization of non-linear, dynamic systems, at TU Dortmund, supervised by Paul I. Barton at MIT, and his MBA at Harvard.
